Here comes the sun...now I have George Harrison in my head. That's OK, it's always been one of my favorites. Don't know if you ever saw the IMAX film Everest, but they do a really good job of incorporating Harrison's tune in the soundtrack. I have it on my iPod and listen to it whenever I go skiing, which is a long way from here, sitting on the Florida coast, watching spring training. But I digress.
Carl Crawford is now at the plate with one out in the bottom of the third and the Rays could use some of his magic. The score is now 4-2 Blue Jays, and I realize I've got some catching up to do. The Rays tied things up at 2-2 in the bottom of the second when Cliff Floyd, Eric Hinske and Dioneer Navarro loaded the bases. Right-side ground ball outs by John Rodriguez and Reid Brignac brought them home. Attention Rays fans: If, at any point during the regular season, the names John Rodriguez and Reid Brignac are written so close together, your team could be in trouble.
Funny the Rays are using such a mut lineup today. Looking at the Jays' lineup, you'd think they were a win away from the World Series or something. Alex Rios hit a towering home run in the top of the third that scored Scott Rolen (not exactly Rodriguez-Brignac...my point exactly) and that made it 4-2 Blue Jays.
Oh yeah, that shot was off Edwin Jackson, who's looking like he's in midseason form, if by midseason you mean last season, when he went 5-15 with a 5.76 ERA. I'd try to figure out his ERA for the spring, but it would just make my head hurt.
Crawford struck out. Rays go down without a whimper in the third. We're off to the fourth inning. At least this thing is breezing along (wow, can't believe I just jinxed myself like that.)
