Longoria ends Hamels perfect game in style, with a long home run into the tiki bar behind the left field fence.
Phillies 3, Rays 1
The perfect game, no-hitter and shutout gone with one swing, which came on an 0-2 pitch with two-out in the fifth.
Hamels had retired 14 straight, six by strikeouts.
Sometimes when a pitcher loses a perfect game, he can’t regroup. That might be the case here. Hamels allowed a single to Reid Brignac, who promptly stole second.
Or not.
Weber just flied out to the warning track in left-center, but the wind carried the ball the last 30 feet or so.
