Good morning from Bright House Field in Clearwater, the spring home of the 2007 National League East Division champion Philadelphia Phillies.
This is Roger Mooney, your host for today’s in-game blog of the Rays-Phillies game, scheduled to start at 1:05 p.m.
It’s a match-up of two pretty good pitchers, James Shields for the Rays and Adam Eaton for the Phillies.
It’s 11 a.m., and nothing much is going on here.
The Rays, as is their custom when they are not traveling far, took batting practice at Al Lang Field. Their bus is scheduled to leave in 15 minutes.
No pre-game for the Phillies. Donald Fehr, the head of the player’s union, is holding his annual meeting with the Phillies players this morning.
He will be in St. Pete on Friday to do the same with the Rays players.
