Rays, Sox tie 3-3

As you might have guessed, we’ve had some difficulties posting today.

The game has been over for an hour or so, and here’s what happened.

The Rays and Red Sox tied 3-3.

The Rays led 2-1 in the bottom of the ninth when Brandon Moss led off with a homer to right field off Mitch Talbot to tie the score and send the game into one extra inning.

Elliot Johnson drew a lead off walk and went to third on a single by Eric Hinske. He scored on a sacrifice fly by Chris Richard.

The Red Sox got the run back in the bottom of the inning when Kurt Birkins hit leadoff batter Joe Thurston, who scored from first on a double by Chris Carter.

And that’s how it ended.

It was the third straight spring training tie between the two clubs.

Check Rays Live on Friday for the action when the Rays host Toronto at Al Lang Field.

Things tend to work better in that old ballpark.

This is Roger Mooney saying goodbye from City of Palms Park, the spring home of the world champion Boston Red Sox.
