How’s that transition from to second base going for Aki you ask?

Great.

He’s just raced in front of the second base bag to field a slow roller by Michaels and threw the speedy left fielder out even though Aki was moving away from the play and throwing across his body.

Rays senior advisor Don Zimmer said Aki won’t have any problems making the move across the infield.

“Aki’s an athlete,” Zim said the other day, “He’ll be fine.”

Judging from that play by Aki, Zim knows what he’s talking about.
