It's raining so it's over

Is there a sadder sight in baseball than a field covered with the tarp?

The game was stopped – banged, as the players call it – with one out in the top of the fifth inning. Since the game didn’t go five innings (because the home team was losing) it’s not an official game.

You now what that means?

The Rays are still undefeated.

They’ll be back at it Wednesday when the Houston Astros make their lone trip to Al Lang Field.

James Shields is scheduled to start for the Rays against Houston’s Adam Eaton.
