Pena joins the power show

What is it about left field?

Carlos Pena hit his first home run of the spring, crushing a pitch from Phillie right-hander Chad Durbin in the top of the fifth into the Rays bullpen in, where? Left field.

Rays 6, Phillies 2

Crawford was on third when Pena connected. The Rays left fielder put on a speed show when he opened the inning with a line drive down the left field line and circled the bases, reaching third standing up.

J-Rod almost makes it 7-2 when he sends Victorino to the wall in center field with a line drive.
According to my count, that’s the fourth ball caught on the warning track in the first 4 ½ innings.

There’s also been three home runs, two triples and three doubles.

The folks are getting their money’s worth of offense today.

They’re also getting wet.
