Something wrong with Dontrelle?

Tiger manager Jim Leyland and the trainer head to the mound to visit Dontrelle Willis, who had a 1-1 count on Jason Bartlett. Willis had struck out Aki to start the inning.

Obviously, Leyland or the trainer spotted something that concerned them. Not sure what it was. They didn’t stay on the mound long, but Willis did bounce his next pitch to Bartlett.

That’s a scary sight for Tigers, don’t you think? The trainer visiting the pitcher who came over in the winter and is thought to be the pitcher who could put this team over the top.

Willis appears fine. He just got Bartlett to fly to right field.

But he walks Carlos Pena.

This is probably Willis’ only inning. Aquilino Lopez is warming in the Tiger bullpen as Willis gets B.J. Upton to force Pena at second, 5-4.

I’ll have to check on Willis for you.
