The Rays head to Pittsburgh for an three-game interleague series beginning June 27, and there is a chance you may see Pirate closer Matt Capps up against Dioner Navarro.
Navarro, who pinch hit in the fifth and stayed in the game as a designated hitter, wins today's battle by singling to center. But he's out thrown out trying to reach third on Willie Aybar's single to right.
John Jaso (Why do you have to take out the trash? Because I Jaso!), the Rays' new catcher, draws a two-out walk, and Chris Richard singles in Aybar. Richard rounds first, gets caught in a rundown and is apparently called out at second before Jaso scores from first.
Nope. He slides in under the tag, and the Rays are pouring it on, up 7-1.
