Aki and Shelley together at first

Never in the history of baseball has so much attention been played to a runner on first not named Lou Brock or Ricky Henderson.

Aki drew a leadoff walk off new Yankee pitcher LaTroy Hawkins and all eyes focus on first and the first meeting between Aki and Shelley since the high spikes affair of Wednesday last.

Hawkins even threw over once, but there was no contact. It didn’t appear as if the two even made eye contact.

Anyway, Aki was out trying to steal second.

Upton drew another walk – his second of he game – but that’s all for the Rays.
