Rays at Tigers

Good morning from Joker Marchant Sadium in Lakeland. Roger Mooney here to keep you posted on today’s happenings between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Detroit Tigers.

It is 10:05 and the Tigers are on the field. Actually, they are running the bases.

They’re working on going from home to first base, from first to third and from home to third.
Now they’re working on tagging up from third.

ESPN’s Peter Gammons is standing outside the Tigers dugout. He’s one of those guys you can recognize from anywhere in the ballpark.

The Rays will put their perfect spring record on the line against the Tigers, who have won three of their four games.

The Rays 3-0 start matches the best in their Grapefruit League history. The 2000 squad also started 3-0 but lost Game 4.

So the Rays are a win from making team history.

Matt Garza will make his Rays debut, so there is another piece of history attached to today’s game. First pitch is 1:05 p.m.
