The Rays' relievers were the antithesis of reliable last year. So being up 7-2 in the ninth inning was the furthest thing for a sure bet.
But the addition of Troy Percival moves Al Reyes into a set-up role, and Dan Wheeler, acquired at the trade deadline last year from Houston, has a solid track record.
None of those guys made the trip - it's the spring, so blowing a lead is harmless for the next month - but their presence should put some Tampa Bay fans at ease.
Today's attendance - 5,827, a sellout.
The Rays don't make a peep, and to paraphrase Led Zeppelin, the score remains the same.
