Who's No. 64?

This is Andy Cannizaro’s eighth year of pro ball. He has 27 days in the big leagues with the New York Yankees in 2006 when he played in 13 games.

You root for a guy like Cannizaro, a nice guy who keeps hammering a way for that elusive chance. He’s in camp as an infielder, hoping to show enough versatility to make the team as the utility infielder. He wears a number more suited for the guy who plays center for the Bucs - 64.

Today he is playing second base.

Cannizaro's single with one out in the bottom of the second is his fourth hit in eight at-bats this spring. He has a home run and four RBI.

Zobrist followed with a walk, but C.C. and B.J. both strikeout.

The Rays have stranded five runners in two innings, including three in scoring position.

Getting those runners home is a priority this spring. So far, they are lagging in that aspect of today’s game.
