Yankees go on top in the eighth

Back to the game, and what a game it is, so I’m told.

My problem is I’ve spent more time in the Rays clubhouse trying to get reaction to the fight and Brian Anderson’s injury, and I haven’t seen much of the action.
Here’s what happened:

The Rays took the lead in the bottom of the seventh when Ronnie Merrill, one of the minor leaguers bused over to Al Lang this morning to serve as a late-inning replacement, homered to tie the score at 3-3.

The Rays took the lead later in the inning when Willie Aybar’s sacrifice fly scored Joel Guzman, who pinch-ran for Floyd, who reached on a single.

Rays 4, Yankees 3

The Yankees scored three times in the top of the eighth. I’m not sure exactly how, but one run scored on a sac fly by Jason Lane and another scored when catcher Josh Paul threw the ball into left field.

Yankees 5, Rays 4
